Chip giant SK Hynix raises $26.5bn as shares surge in bumper US listing
South Korean computer chip maker SK Hynix has raised $26.5bn (£19.8bn) in its New York share offering, marking the largest ever listing by a foreign firm in the US.
The company, a key supplier to AI chip giant Nvidia, said on Thursday it had sold 177.9 million American depositary shares for $149 each. The shares surged as much as 17% on Friday in their first day of trading on the Nasdaq.

LGBTQ Characters in Film Decline for Third Year
The number of LGBTQ characters in feature films has declined for the third year in a row, according to a new study released by GLAAD.
The advocacy organization published the 14th edition of a report that tracks LGBTQ representation in film — the study is now called Where We Are in Film after previously being dubbed the Studio Responsibility Index — based on data culled from films released by the 10 largest studio distributors from Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, 2025. The distributor list includes A24, Amazon, Apple TV, Lionsgate, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Paramount, Sony, Disney and Warner Bros., along with subsidiary distribution labels and majority-owned streaming services.

The popular open source AI tool Ollama has raised a $65 million Series B, led by Theory Ventures, founder and CEO Jeff Morgan tells TechCrunch.
This round follows a previous $15 million Series A led by Benchmark’s Peter Fenton. All told, the company has now raised $88 million.
