Subaru's Most Powerful Model Ever Is Delayed in Order to Further Refine the Electric SUV
- The 2027 Subaru Getaway is delayed, as first reported by Carscoops and confirmed by Subaru.
- Subaru didn't say how long we'll have to wait, but we expect the delay to mirror that of the Toyota Highlander EV, which is delayed by at least eight weeks.
- The Getaway should still go on sale by early 2027, and packs a 420-horsepower dual-motor electric powertrain that makes it the most powerful production Subaru ever.
Earlier this month, we learned that Toyota's new three-row electric SUV, which nabs the Highlander name from the brand's long-running mid-size crossover, had been delayed. At the time, we had wondered what this meant for the closely related Subaru Getaway, but Subaru didn't provide any updates. Now, we have confirmation that the Getaway's arrival will also be pushed back, as first reported by Carscoops.
Fat-storing cell structures may block viral spread by recruiting antiviral proteins
La Trobe University scientists have uncovered the critical role fatty cell structures play in our body's early detection and defense against viruses. Published in Nature Communications, the discovery could open the door to a new type of antiviral strategy that harnesses the body's innate defense mechanisms rather than targeting individual viruses.
Anthropic launches Opus 5
On Friday, Anthropic launched its Opus 5 model, the newest version of its long-standing heavyweight model. While smaller than Fable 5, the model will be both cheaper and less restrictive than Fable, likely making it preferable in most use cases.
You can trade in your enemy's teeth to "bend" time in vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker, care of some really horrible Tooth Fairies
No pillows required, apparently
I've been vaguely looking forward to grotty dark fantasy RPG The Blood Of Dawnwalker, despite its genAI flirtations. To recap, it casts you as a medieval vampire fledgling whose family has been abducted by another, boss vampire. You've got 30 days and nights to save your loved ones while deciding just how much you're going to succumb to the gore-guzzling curse.

The Time Pontiac Sent A Ringer To Journalists - Jalopnik
The relationship between an automaker's public relations department and car journalists sometimes hinges on a lie – a lie that describes a test vehicle as a completely stock, factory-fresh, assembly line press car. And for decades, we journos have strapped our timing gears to these cars, recorded some absolutely mind-boggling numbers, and printed them. The problem is, some of these cars are anything but stock.
