The owners of Cypress Cove Resort are dealing with GTA 6 pranksters

Though Rockstar has not officially revealed Grand Theft Auto 6's nudist camp, fans have been aware of it since the late August 2026 leaks of the game. For some, it wasn't enough to watch the unedited gameplay of the GTA 6 area where NPCs roam in the buff. Instead, they've tracked down the real-world location that may have inspired the raunchiest part of Rockstar's open-world game — and are now making one business owner's life a small nightmare.

The naked encampment in GTA 6 appears to be based on the Floridian Cypress Cove Resort, which bills itself as a "family-friendly" nudist retreat. Cypress Cove has operated since 1964; it began as a modest lakefront property and expanded significantly after the tourist boom brought about by the construction of Disney World. The resort has since expanded multiple times, adding new pools, a villa-style hotel, and a lakeside restaurant. Cypress Cove seems to have a good thing going — after more than a thousand reviews, it has 4.6 stars on Google and 4.7 stars on Trip Advisor.

Ever since the GTA 6 footage leaked, however, the family-operated business has had to contend with a string of pranksters who thought it would be so funny to leave reviews referencing the game. The issue is that some of these reviews make it sound like something bad happened while they visited the resort — when, in actuality, they're describing something from GTA 6.

"Had a great time until a man pulled out his binoculars," one reviewer wrote, in reference to the GTA 6 leaker who zoomed in on the NPCs with binoculars.

"I was troubled to hear about the incident that occurred in August," another reviewer vaguely noted.

The business owner is now calling the fake appraisals extortive in the review replies. Here's the message in full, which makes reference to some reviews that may already have been pulled.

For anyone wondering about the suddenly recurring references to “Jason Duval,” “Lucia,” binoculars, a pool, firearms, and other suspiciously similar details — those are references to Grand Theft Auto VI. 🎮

Yes. A video game.

These reviews appear to be part of a coordinated series of fabricated posts using GTA VI references and attaching them to our actual business. They were then followed by a request that we PAY MONEY to have the reviews changed or removed.

Thankfully, the resort still has a very positive rating overall on Google. According to legitimate reviewers, the resort provides an "incredible experience" full of friendly guests and top-notch customer service.

"This is a family friendly place where you can bring your children or your mom or the entire family to enjoy the lake, the pool, the restaurant, the get togethers and dances in a friendly, nude environment," one top Google review reads. "You don’t have to worry about creepy, single men following you around or inappropriate displays of 'affection.'"
