Marvel Rivals' Season 9 release time is coming up fast, and it's yet another big season for the hero shooter. NetEase is adding the usual two new heroes, alongside a new mode, a new map, and big reworks for Black Widow and the entire roster's Team-Up abilities. That's in addition to bringing back some classic Team-Ups that haven't been seen in a while.

Below, we break down the Marvel Rivals Season 9 release time across the globe and explain what to expect from the new season.

What time does Marvel Rivals Season 9 release in your time zone?

Marvel Rivals Season 9, officially called The Mystery of Thebes, launches on July 10. NetEase hasn't announced a specific release time, but based on how previous seasons have worked, maintenance will likely begin at 9 a.m. UTC, which is 5 a.m. EDT. It always lasts two hours, so you should expect the season to go live at 7 a.m. EDT. Here's what that looks like for the rest of the world:

  • 4 a.m. PDT for the west coast of North America
  • 7 a.m. EDT for the east coast of North America
  • 8 a.m. BRT for Brazil
  • 12 p.m. BST for the U.K.
  • 1 p.m. CEST for western Europe
  • 8 p.m. JST for Japan
  • 9 p.m. AEST for the east coast of Australia

What to expect in Marvel Rivals Season 9

The usual things include two new heroes and a new map, though as always, they're spaced out through the season. New Strategist hero Jubilee debuts at the start of the season on July 10. She uses "energy plasmoids" (read: fireworks) to heal her teammates and damage and blind enemies, and her ultimate ability is an even bigger fireworks show. In Season 9.5, The Hood joins the roster, though NetEase hasn't said what role he'll occupy.

Black Widow is finally getting a long-requested rework as well, following a controversial nerf earlier this year. Folks have criticized the sniper since Marvel Rivals' initial release over her lack of one-shot kills and questionable mobility, among other things. NetEase outlined changes to some of that in a season preview trailer. Black Widow's aim-down-sights sniper mode is no longer part of her main kit and will, instead, be her ultimate, with increased hitbox size for bullets and still no one-hit kills. The rework increases the rate-of-fire for her primary attack, and her old ultimate, which uses an energy blast to slow enemies down, is now part of her main kit.

And NetEase is boosting Marvel Rivals' Team-Ups. Every hero will have two Team-Up loadouts — currently, it's hit-and-miss which heroes will have two potential Team-Ups or not — and all loadouts will have a base effect and an enhanced effect. It's unclear what those enhanced effects are or how they'll activate in each pairing, though.

On July 23, NetEase will add the Thebes convoy map, and on July 30, a new mode goes live: Path to Doomsday - Avengers: Age of Ultron. In that mode, teams rush into Ultron's tower and push through waves of the 'bot's mechanical soldiers.
