A fraudster has been jailed for helping to scam medical companies out of millions of pounds through bogus personal protective equipment (PPE) deals during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Craig Morris, 43, and Jogesh Bhandari, 60, bought luxury cars, holidays and a new home after pretending they could supply millions of boxes of nitrile gloves in the US and Germany.

We’re used to films about hope and rejuvenation in the final days of the Second World War, but there’s a more novel perspective to be found in “Krux” — set in an isolated village in northeast Germany, where many of the locals have been so brainwashed by Nazism that the end of the war may as well be the end of the world. Tony Vahl’s ultra-stern, intensely atmospheric debut feature cultivates such a siloed mood of apocalyptic despair that you can almost, in the very low-lit moment, forget the historical context for all this doomsaying. It’s an effective evocation of the lasting effects of totalitarian gaslighting, even on a populace no longer beholden to the regime in question — and one that feels relevant to a contemporary political landscape of cultish extremist loyalties.

It's extremely rude of Blizzard to prove me wrong. I, like many others, was all set to scoff at Overwatch's latest Sombra rework. Moving the pesky, perpetually banned hacker from damage to support? What a horrible concession to people who don't want to learn how to play the game! Well, maybe it is a concession to the segment of people who don't like paying attention to their surroundings. But it turns out it's an awfully good concession either way.

When we first caught a glimpse of the Surface Laptop Ultra back in June, I was struck by how normal it seemed.
